Binjai day 5

Vandaag start de introductie voor nieuwe studenten. Op het veld tegenover de school zie ik dagelijks strak in het gelid staande kinderen in school uniformen. Dit beeld kom ik ook hier tegen. Geen wanordelijke groep leerlingen, maar netjes in rijnen opgesteld. Saluerend voor de school leiding. Het volkslied en school lied zingend.

Vanmiddag om 14:00 uur wordt ik geacht min speech te houden. Ik hoop maar dat de leerlingen tegen die tijd nog kunnen luisteren na alle andere aanhoudende verhalen die ze hebben moeten aanhoren.  Inmiddels heb ik niet alleen een batik overhemd gekregen dat ik voor deze gelegenheid geacht wordt te dragen, Maar ook een uniform. Dat gaat morgen aan als ik met de leerlingen naar Sibolangit ga

Ik zal wellicht vandaag nog meer publiceren ofschoon ik niet weet of ik daar nog veel tijd voor heb. Ook weet ik niet of ik dit weekend nog de beschikking heb over internet. Ik neem in elk geval mijn modem mee in de hoop daat ook verbinding te kunnen maken. Maar voor iedereen die me via skype wil bereiken, heb geduld.

DAY 5

Today is the start of the days of introduction for the new students.
Everyday when I drive from me guest-house to school I see small children in uniform standing in  military like rows. This picture differs greatly form the more disorganized way our students hang around. Even when their seated in the classroom, they show any discipline. Here they sing the national anthem and their school song and salute their teachers if it ware solders. NO way any student would even consider  to submit them selfs to this kind of discipline.
Not only students, even teachers ware uniforms, so even I'm going to ware one this weekend.
At 1400 hours I'll be speaking to the students. I hope that by that time, there not worn out bij all the speeches thy had today and all the new information they have to absorb.

It may well be that I'll will post some more today, not knowing if I'll be able to do that in the upcoming weekend in witch I join the students on their introduction weekend in Sibolangit So if you want to skype my please be patient (It computers and stuff..:-)
